In 2024, the Canadian Caribbean Amateur Golfers Association (CCAGA) continued its commitment to fostering inclusivity and strengthening community connections through golf.  The organization participated in and hosted multiple events aimed at giving back to the community, forming strategic partnerships, and enhancing member engagement

The CCAGA Charity Tournament was a key event of the year, bringing together 45 golfers, including members of the Tamil Golf Association (TGA), for a day of friendly competition and philanthropy. The funds raised from the tournament were donated to the Jerome Henry Foundation, supporting its mission to provide scholarships and mentorship programs. This collaboration reinforced CCAGA’s dedication to supporting meaningful causes while promoting camaraderie through golf.

Together We Golf Invitational
On July 13, 2023, CCAGA invited members of Together We Golf to participate in an inclusive golf event at Silver Brooke Golf Club.  Each foursome included at least one member from Together We Golf, fostering engagement between golfers of diverse backgrounds and skill levels. This initiative was part of CCAGA’s broader effort to make golf more welcoming and accessible to all.

Supporting Black Women Golfers
As part of its ongoing support for diversity and inclusion in golf, CCAGA provided a Canada themed gift to the Black Women Golfers group when they traveled to Ohio to visit Renee Powell. This gesture symbolized CCAGA’s appreciation for the legacy of Renee Powell, a trailblazer in women’s golf, and its commitment to supporting initiatives that empower Black women in the sport.

Participation in the Tamil Golf Association Charity Tournament

CCAGA was honored to be invited to the Tamil Golf Association Charity Tournament, further strengthening its relationship with the Tamil golfing community. This collaboration underscores CCAGA’s commitment to building meaningful partnerships with other golf associations in Ontario and beyond.

CCAGA Annual Gala
The annual CCAGA Gala was another highlight of the year, bringing together members, sponsors, and supporters for an evening of celebration and recognition. With 60 attendees, more than half of whom were family and friends, the event was a testament to the strong sense of community within CCAGA.

The main sponsor, Toco Trucking, contributed $500 towards the event, in addition to providing a professional photographer to capture the special moments of the night. The gala not only celebrated the achievements of CCAGA members but also reinforced the organization’s mission of fostering lasting relationships through the game of golf.
