League Play

League Play

Welcome to the Canadian Caribbean Amateur Golfers Association (CCAGA) League Play—where competition, community, and culture come together. Whether you’re a new golfer or a potential sponsor, our league offers an organized, exciting, and rewarding golf experience.

How League Play Works

Players are grouped based on their individual handicap, ensuring fair and competitive play for golfers of all skill levels—from beginners to experienced players.

League play follows the official rules governed by Golf Canada, in partnership with the R&A and the United States Golf Association.

Handicap Compliance

At CCAGA, maintaining an accurate handicap is essential to fair competition and the integrity of league play. All members—new and returning—are expected to track their scores consistently throughout the year, regardless of where they play.

Your handicap reflects your true playing ability and ensures that every golfer has an equal opportunity to compete in net competitions.

Handicap Requirements:

  • To be eligible for Low Net awards, all players must maintain an up-to-date handicap through Golf Canada.

Ontario Golf Season:

  • Scores must be posted for all rounds played between April 15 – October 31.

Year-Round Score Tracking:

  • CCAGA is a diverse and traveling community. Members often play golf outside of Ontario during the off-season.
  • If you play rounds in the Caribbean, internationally, or at any destination outside Canada, you are still required to post those scores.
  • This ensures your handicap remains accurate and reflects your current level of play at all times.

Why This Matters:
Accurate score tracking:

  • Promotes fairness in all competitions
  • Upholds the integrity of the league
  • Creates a level playing field for every member

Failure to maintain a current and accurate handicap may result in ineligibility for Low Net prizes and certain competitions.

Commitment to the Game:
By tracking your scores consistently—no matter the location or season—you contribute to a stronger, more competitive, and respected CCAGA golf community.

 Our Signature Events

The Canadian Caribbean Amateur Golfers Association (CCAGA) proudly hosts five major championships that represent the highest level of competition within the association. Each major carries its own unique history, tradition, and significance, providing members with the opportunity to compete for some of the most prestigious titles in Caribbean amateur golf.

Founders Cup

The Founders Cup honors the visionaries and pioneers whose dedication and commitment laid the foundation for the Canadian Caribbean Amateur Golfers Association. This prestigious championship celebrates the spirit of leadership, community, and excellence that continues to drive CCAGA forward. Competitors battle not only for the trophy but for the opportunity to be recognized among the association’s most accomplished golfers while paying tribute to those who established the organization’s enduring legacy. Founders Blackman, Harte, Hull, Clarke, Headley, Khan and Tull.

Highland Classic Cup

The Highland Classic Cup is a true test of skill, strategy, and endurance. Inspired by the rich traditions of championship golf, this major challenges players to navigate demanding course conditions while maintaining focus under pressure. Generously donated by Scott Owen, the Highland Classic Cup has become synonymous with competitive excellence and rewards golfers who demonstrate consistency, resilience, and the ability to perform when the stakes are highest.

Investors Challenge Cup

The Investors Challenge Cup recognizes the importance of vision, commitment, and investment in both golf and community development. Donated by CCAGA Founder and Past President Derek Wilson, this championship brings together golfers who understand that success is built through patience, discipline, and smart decision-making. The Investors Challenge Cup celebrates these qualities while providing one of the most competitive and rewarding events on the CCAGA calendar.

Fall Classic Cup

The Fall Classic Cup serves as the grand finale of the CCAGA major championship season and holds a special place in the association’s history as the original major championship created by the founders. Set against the beautiful backdrop of autumn golf, this tournament celebrates camaraderie, competition, and the accomplishments of the year’s top players. As the final major of the season, the Fall Classic Cup offers competitors one last opportunity to leave their mark on CCAGA history and finish the year on a championship note.

The CCAGA Major Legacy

Together, these five majors form the cornerstone of the CCAGA competitive season, providing members with opportunities to compete, connect, and create lasting memories while celebrating the rich Caribbean heritage, sportsmanship, fellowship, and golfing excellence that define the association. Earning a CCAGA Major Championship is more than winning a tournament—it is becoming part of a legacy that continues to inspire generations of golfers across the Canadian Caribbean community.
